The Beach House is owned and managed by Merrise Crooks-Bishton and her husband Derek Bishton.

Merrise is a Jamaican who has lived and worked for many years in England where she is a college lecturer in basic skills and literacy. She has written and published a number of literacy books - including the Rocky Basic Readers, which focus on aspects of Jamaican life and culture.

Derek is a senior editor with The Daily Telegraph newspaper in London. He is the author of a book about the historical origins of the Rastafarian movement - Black Heart Man
